Melanie Colclough

Senior Program Officer, Human Services & Arts and Culture


Melanie Colclough is the Senior Program Officer responsible for the Foundation’s human services & arts/culture portfolios. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Public Administration degree from the City University of New York through the National Urban Fellows, a public and nonprofit leadership fellowship.

She has over two decades of experience as a leader in the nonprofit and public sectors. Prior to joining the foundation, Melanie served as the executive director of the SC Arts Alliance, a nonprofit organization tasked with advocating for the success, expansion, and vitality of the creative industry. She is a graduate of Duke University’s Nonprofit Management Program, was appointed a grant reviewer for the National Endowment of the Arts, and earned a seat in the inaugural cohort of South Arts’ Emerging Leaders of Color.

She was awarded several honors for her work, including the Tribute to Women in Industry Award from the YWCA of the Upper Lowlands, Women of Excellence Award from the Social Justice Consortium, and the SCPRSA Silver Wing Award of Excellence. Melanie also orchestrated a city, county, and business collaboration which earned an Inspiration Award for Outstanding Partnerships from the Municipal Association of South Carolina.
