Charlie Glover serves as the President and CEO where he leads the foundation’s strategic direction, community partnerships, and investments throughout East Texas. Working closely with the Board of Trustees and staff, he oversees grantmaking, operations, and stakeholder engagement to fulfill the foundation’s mission of building thriving communities and reducing poverty across the region.

Charlie brings deep experience in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors. Prior to joining the foundation, he served as Vice President of Grants at The Meadows Foundation, one of Texas’s largest statewide philanthropies, where he led strategic initiatives, grant processes, and evaluation efforts. His career also includes roles as a senior fellow at Bellwether Education Partners, a cabinet member in Dallas ISD, and the founding executive director of Teach For America in Dallas-Fort Worth. He began his career as a middle school teacher in Durham, North Carolina.

A recognized voice in Texas philanthropy, Charlie has served on numerous nonprofit boards and advisory councils, including as founding co-chair of the Dallas College School of Education Advisory Board, The Commit Partnership, City Year, Workforce Solutions, and Philanthropy Advocates. He holds a B.S. in Sociology from Texas A&M University and an Ed.M. in Education Policy and Management from Harvard University. An alumnus of Leadership Dallas, he was named to the Dallas Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” list. A cancer survivor, Charlie enjoys scratch cooking and spending time with his wife, children, and rescue dog.
